The mayor:

• Represents the municipality
• Controls the legality and the dispositions of the Assembly
• Publicizes the Assembly’s dispositions in the official municipal newspaper
• Assures the implementation of the Assembly’s decisions
• Assures the operating of the work delegated by law to the municipality
• Initiates and proposes the dispositions from the Assembly
• Proposes the annual budget of the municipality and the municipal annual report
• Realizes the annual budget
• Elects the head of public affairs sectors founded by the municipality, based on public job openings
• Regularly reports the Assembly for performing its competences in accordance with the statute
• Decides in the administrative for the rights, obligations and interests of legal and natural people, in accordance with the law
• Brings rules for the systematisation of the municipal administration
• Leads with the municipal administration
• Decides for the employment, the rights, obligations and the responsibilities of the employees in the municipal administration, if not otherwise defined by law
• Assures lawful and rightful utilization, maintenance and preservation of the municipal property, in accordance with the law and the statute, and
• Performs other duties as defined by law and statute.
