Medical school ‘Nikola Stein’ was established in 1961, with the decision no. 05-5685 from the Council of the Municipality of Tetovo with the name Medical High School for nurses and technicians, while in 1979 with the decision of the district court in Skopje, the school will be named the Medical Education Centre ‘Nikola Stein’, and from April 2007 as Medical High School ‘Nikola Stein’ – Tetovo. In 1961 the school begins to work only with two classes in Macedonian, while in 1967/68, classes in Albanian were opened and in 1987/88 in Turkish as well.

The number of students has increased steadily, and now the school has 80 classes in three languages, in 7 profiles, out of which 5 in the medical profession (nurse, dental technician, physiotherapist technician, medical lab technician, pharmacy technician) and 2 in the personal services (optician technician, cosmetics technician) with approximately 3000 students.

From 2005/2006 the teaching process is conducted in a new modern building with all the conditions for successful learning environments in compliance with the reformed high school curriculum.
